Making her debut with the Helena Symphony Orchestra this season at the 2013 Symphony Under the Stars and at Christmas in the Cathedral, Soprano Christie Hageman is a Montana native, and was the 2006 Miss Montana, where she traveled the state speaking to audiences with the platform “Music Makes the Difference.” Described as having a “lovely timbre, perfect trill, and soaring top,” Ms. Hageman is currently a Resident Artist at Minnesota Opera. Her upcoming performances include appearances in Carmen with Livermore Valley Opera, and Minnesota Opera’s production of The Magic Flute. Ms. Hageman has previously appeared in productions of Turandot, The Marriage of Figaro with the Stockton Opera, La Bohème with the Minnesota Opera, The Crucible with Rimrock Opera, Roméo et Juliette with Livermore Valley Opera, and Carmen with Opera Fort Collins. She has appeared in concert with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra.
Ms. Hageman has placed in several vocal competitions, including the Audience Choice Award at the Irene Dalis Competition, first place in the prestigious Denver Lyric Opera Guild, third place in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. She earned her Masters of Music degree from the University of Colorado Boulder, and her undergraduate degree in Vocal Performance from San Jose State University.
