The Arts in the Economy explores how the arts make a significant impact in the economy. Topics include job creation, taxes generated, direct and indirect effects on the national and local economies, and how the economic impact of the arts have helped shaped public policy and corporate decision making. Other topics include how the economic impact of the arts have influence social, cultural, educational, and political factors in a community. Weekly lectures and discussions include community, corporate, political, and arts leaders as guest speakers. In addition to the weekly class, the course includes two Saturdays in order to experience site visits. Maestro Allan R. Scott.
