Events & Box Office Coordinator

The Events & Box Office Coordinator is responsible for working with and assisting the Helena Symphony in an open, efficient, and professional manner, and assisting the Director of Patron Services, the Director of Development & Communication, and the Director of Artistic Planning in the accomplishment of the Helena Symphony’s mission. The ideal candidate understands and embraces the Music Director’s vision and goals of the Helena Symphony and the role the Helena Symphony plays in the region.

The Events & Box Office Coordinator works with the Director of Patron Services with day-to-day operations of the Symphony offices, including with box office, interacting with patrons, answering the phones, welcoming visitors, and working with office volunteers. Other duties include coordinating details for upcoming fundraisers and receptions, identifying housing for visiting musicians, going to the bank as needed, maintaining relationships with and scheduling volunteers, and working with other members of the Symphony staff. The Events & Box Office Coordinator also assists with “front of house” duties during performances.

Helena Symphony Orchestra Audition Announcements

The Helena Symphony Orchestra & Chorale led by Music Director Allan R. Scott has an annual concert season of 14-18 concerts, including 6 subscription concerts, 4 non-series concerts, 5 education concerts, occasional runout or benefit performances, and potential outreach/ school visits, totaling 55-65 services per season. The Helena Symphony Orchestra works under a master agreement, and there are 2-6 services in a concert series week.

A per service fee (shown below), travel reimbursement of $.52 per mile, per round trip, up to $400 maximum per concert series, cartage, and lodging during the concert week are provided as outlined in the master agreement.

Candidates must submit a completed Audition Information Form and a single-page CV or performance resumé to [email protected]. ALL candidates must send a $50 audition deposit to reserve an audition time, which must be received in the Helena Symphony Office on or before the audition application deadline. Please use the memo line or clearly indicate Candidate’s name with deposit check submission. The deposit will be returned at the audition or destroyed if cancellation is requested 2 weeks prior to the audition date. Deposit is forfeit if cancellation is requested after 2 weeks prior to the audition date, or if candidate does not appear for audition.

Substitute Positions
Candidates wishing to apply for a substitute position may submit a completed Audition Information Form to [email protected], along with a current single page CV or performance resumé. Candidates for substitute positions will be asked to submit selected excerpt recordings. Excerpts and instructions on substitute availability and how to submit materials will be emailed to you once the Audition Information Form is received. Successful candidates will be placed on the substitute list and may be asked to play if openings are available.

 

Helena Symphony Chorale

The Helena Symphony Chorale schedules auditions upon request or as needed.  Singers must be able to read music and who have choral experience are welcome to audition.

The 100-voice chorale currently rehearses Sunday evenings, 6:00-9:00 p.m.

The Audition Information Form must be downloaded and completed prior to an audition.
