The Helena Symphony and Carroll College has announced their continued collaboration for the Intrepid Credit Union Symphony Under the Stars concert event and fireworks show on Saturday, July 20 at 8:30 p.m. on the campus of Carroll College.  Considered the largest summer event in Montana, the much-anticipated Symphony Under the Stars attracts well over 15,000 people from all over the state of Montana and beyond.

The 16th annual concert will feature one of the first symphonic tributes to the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin including the Helena Symphony Orchestra complete with rock band, backup singers, members of the Symphony Chorale, and featuring two renowned vocalists: Grammy nominated R&B singer Ryan Shaw, and Broadway star Capathia Jenkins (from several Tony Award productions, including Newsies.) The concert features top hits of Aretha Franklin as well as other music from great R&B legends including Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder.

“Symphony Under the Stars has become an important Montana tradition,” said Helena Symphony Music Director Allan R. Scott. “Carroll College and the Helena Symphony, along with the Intrepid Credit Union have committed to keeping this concert alive.”

“Carroll College enjoys collaborating with the Helena Symphony and Intrepid Credit Union in order to bring this much-anticipated evening of music to the Helena community and beyond each summer. We are proud to provide the venue and are thankful to the myriad of sponsors who make this event possible,” said Dr. John Cech, president of Carroll College.

“At Intrepid Credit Union, we work to cultivate community and strive to make Helena a great place to live, work, and play,” said Greg Strizich, CEO of Intrepid Credit Union.  “We are honored to be the principal sponsor of Symphony Under the Stars, which is one of Helena’s most beloved annual events.”
