529fbc42282f8.preview-620A rarely performed work, “Magnificat” by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, opens the Helena Symphony Orchestra and Chorale’s Christmas in the Cathedral concert 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, at the Cathedral of St. Helena.

“Magnificat” as well as two other works, “St. Anne’s Prelude” by Johann Sebastian Bach and “In Terra Pax” by Gerald Finzi are all premieres for the Helena Symphony, said music director Allan R. Scott.
