Saturday night was as sultry as a hot Latin love affair and so was Helena’s Symphony Under the Stars.

The air was filled with the sounds of salsa — and it also filled people’s plates, noted Jeff Salisbury, a longtime fan of the annual symphony outdoors at Carroll College.

“This is such a joyous thing to do,” Salisbury said as the King Fiesta Mariachis band’s music wafted through the air, shortly before the Latin America-themed symphony began. “First, it’s a community event that brings every walk of life together. Two, the weather is superb and its one way to enjoy Montana; in February this remembers pretty well.
